How to apply for Educator Grants

Apply for the following opportunities online at /about-nshss/educators/.  Select “Register as an Educator.” Then click the Grants link at the top of your dashboard after you log in. If you are already registered as an Educator with NSHSS, log in to your dashboard to apply for these opportunities: NOTE THAT YOU DO NOT NEED TO SELECT THE ‘ACCEPT INVITATION’ BUTTON OR ASK FOR A CONFIRMATION CODE (which is for students only).

NSHSS School Counselor Appreciation Grants

NSHSS, in collaboration with the American School Counselor Association, is pleased to offer five $1,000 grants to enable ASCA members to attend the 2017 national conference in Denver, July 8-11.  The funds may be used to defray the costs of conference registration, travel and accommodations.  Eligibility:  Any high school counselor and ASCA member currently employed at a public or private high school in the United States. Application available: February 6, 2017.  Deadline: March 31, 2017

Educational Conference Registration Grants

NSHSS is providing three $1,000 grants to be used during 2017 to help defray costs of educational conference registration, travel, and accommodations. Eligibility: Any high school teacher or counselor currently employed at a public or private high school in the United States or internationally. Deadline: December 31, 2016.  Recipients will be notified by February 15, 2017, and must accept by March 1, 2017.

IB Teacher Grants

DECA Chapter Advisor Grants

In partnership with DECA, NSHSS has established a Claes Nobel DECA Advisor Leadership Award to recognize the outstanding contributions of DECA advisors who consistently demonstrate their commitment to preparing students for success in college and in life.  Two awards of $1,000 will be presented to DECA Advisors at the DECA International Career Conference, April 26-29, 2017, in Anaheim, California. Eligible candidates must be active DECA Advisors currently offering direct instruction at a public or private school in the United States or abroad. Application requires a resume, personal statement, principal’s recommendation, and photo. Deadline: January 13, 2017

$500 grants to support Advanced Placement instruction in any subject. Funds may be used for supplies, materials, field trips or other resources to enhance the delivery of Advanced Placement courses.  The 2015 application is now closed.  Apply for this grant in 2016. Eligibility: Any high school teacher or counselor currently employed at a public or private high school in the United States or internationally.

We are honored to recognize our Claes Nobel Educators of Distinction and, in order to help educators achieve their professional development goals, NSHSS is providing four (4) awards of $2,500 each to help with the costs of tuition and course-related expenses for teachers and counselors who are enrolling in university courses in Summer 2017, Fall, 2017, or Spring 2018. Claes Nobel Educators of the Year

Each year, Claes Nobel Educators of Distinction are invited to apply for the Educator of the Year award, which is presented at the NSHSS annual holiday member event at The Carter Presidential Center in Atlanta, Georgia. The Educator of the Year receives a $5,000 cash prize; the other 9 finalists receive $500. Application available: September 1, 2016. Deadline: October 17, 2016
