Learn. Lead. Change the World.

Behind every NSHSS member is a passionate parent.   We know that each year getting into college is more competitive and certainly more expensive.  NSHSS offers advantages to help you and your child network with a wide variety of university admissions officers, explore career paths through internship and employment opportunities, and connect with a diverse group of like-minded, high-achievers.

Claes Nobel, NSHSS Co-Founder and senior member of the family that established the Nobel Prizes, believes that NSHSS scholars will one day be the next Nobel Laureates, because they are pushing the envelope on changing the world for both themselves as well as for others around them.

We welcome your family to lifetime membership with NSHSS!

NSHSS Parent Survey 2014

For the first three weeks of November, parents of NSHSS members, age 14 – 18, were prompted to complete a survey to assist NSHSS in assessing the needs and expectations of NSHSS parents and members. A total of 5,200 parents completed the survey–offering NSHSS invaluable insight on NSHSS parents’ awareness of the benefits and experiences of membership.

The parents who participated in the survey responded that the two main benefits their student receives from membership in NSHSS are member events and college guidance. Parents listed the particular majors offered by a university as the most important factor in their child’s college selection –with tuition cost and location following in importance. Eighty-five percent of parents indicated that their student is interested in attending graduate school, and 65% percent of parents were unaware that NSHSS membership is for a lifetime and offers exclusive scholarship, internship, and professional networking opportunities for college students and college graduates. Sixty percent of parents have students who are interested in studying abroad. Parents also responded that resources to fund college tuition and the influence of media and social media are among the key challenges facing youths in their community.

NSHSS appreciates the vital feedback offered in its 2014 Parent Survey and looks forward to better serving NSHSS scholars and parents.
