The National Society of High School Scholars is pleased to continue its partnership with The National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC) National College Fairs Program. NACAC, a dynamic organization of counseling and enrollment professionals, helps students realize their full educational potential, with particular emphasis on the transition to postsecondary education. To this aim, NACAC holds approximately 50 National College Fairs and 18 Performing and Visual Arts Fairs across the United States. These fairs are for high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors to learn about a wide range of institutions and gain insight regarding the college admissions and the financial aid process. Greg Ferguson, Director of National College Fairs, Programs, and Services states, "For many parents and students it is a one-stop shopping experience, an opportunity for them to consider as many institutions as they would possibly like to attend without leaving their geographic area. It saves both time and money!"

These fairs are an excellent resource for NSHSS members and their parents to begin the college search and meet personally with admissions professionals. For additional information about the fairs and how to attend, please visit "Tips for Attending a National College Fair" on the NACAC website. Here you will find tips for attending the college fairs and how to make the most of the experience, as well as FAQ's. You can also search on this page to see which colleges and universities will be exhibiting at the fairs.

NSHSS and NACAC welcome you and your family to take advantage of this great opportunity, and we hope to meet you at an upcoming College Fair!

SACAC Mini-Camp College Workshops

The National Society of High School Scholars and The Southern Association for College Admission Counseling (SACAC), along with ACT and The College Board, are sponsoring a special opportunity for high school students to prepare for college through the free SACAC Mini-Camp College Workshops. These are workshops which college admission officers and school counselors from throughout the Southeast will attend to present information on college planning. Topics include the college search, making the best of college fairs, and the scholarship/financial aid process. Parents are welcome to attend with their students.

To register for any of these workshops, please go to the SACAC website, which also includes agendas and driving directions for the various locations.

I just wanted to let you know what a great time my son and I had at the college mini-camp at UNC-Charlotte.  All of the volunteers and speakers were very nice and helpful, they answered a lot of questions, and we got a lot of very useful information.  Thank you so much for being a part of events such as this one.--NSHSS Parent
