Emma Pitts | Speak Up! Scholarship 2023 Recipient

The Speak Up Scholarship encourages today’s youth to be vocal and active with their community, engaging in meaningful and constructive dialogue. Regarding financing my education with this scholarship, I am currently a student in a Québec post-secondary educational institution called a CÉGEP. I am set to graduate from John Abbott College in May of 2025.

Iman Zakaria | Activism and Advocacy Scholarship 2023 Recipient

Iman Zakaria is a Senior and attends Health Careers High School. By receiving this scholarship, she is one step closer to achieving her goals of attending college and becoming a Pediatric Emergency Physician. Since she was five, she has wanted to attend college and become a doctor. Iman is blessed and honored to have support from her family and friends. However, achieving her goals will create a financial burden for her family. Iman's father recently returned to school to become a nurse serving his community.
By receiving this scholarship, Iman can achieve her dreams of becoming a pediatrician and focus on her academics without worrying about how to pay for college.
