Stanford Pre-Collegiate Studies 2024 Summer Programs

Join the admissions staff of Stanford Pre-Collegiate Studies to learn more about Stanford Pre-Collegiate Summer Institutes and Stanford Summer Humanities Institute. Both programs challenge students with advanced content not typically found in the high-school curriculum. Offered online in 2024, Pre-Collegiate Summer Institutes courses provide in-depth and interactive exploration of academic material. Courses are available in subjects including computer science, math, creative writing, philosophy, engineering, and more. Stanford Summer Humanities Institute, a residential program on the campus of Stanford University, offers rising high school juniors and seniors with a strong interest in the humanities an opportunity to explore the field at a college-level. Students will investigate philosophical questions, and pursue research topics of their own choosing.

Speakers

Emily Hendershot | Assistant Director of Admissions

Emily is originally from Arizona, and joined Stanford Online High School (OHS) in 2017. She holds both a B.S. and a B.A. from the University of Arizona in Urban & Regional Development and German Studies. In college, she was an exchange student in Germany and South Africa, and in high school was also selected as a Sister Cities delegate to New Zealand. Her biggest passions are education, travel, music, history, and the ocean.
 
Before joining Stanford OHS, she served in a variety of admissions and student services roles at Minerva Schools at KGI, San Jose State University, and CEA Global Education. 
 
In her personal time, Emily likes occasionally winning pub trivia nights, attending concerts, and watching basketball, baseball, and baking shows.
