Aliyah Pflueger
Aliyah Pflueger is a recent high school graduate from Morris Jeff Community High School in New Orleans, Louisiana. Aliyah is a great community leader and has shown so by participating in the Y.A.M (The Young Artist Movement) program created for youth to participate in painting murals to bring happiness and positivity throughout the city of New Orleans. Aliyah took on the role of a peer educator. She had the pleasure of personally working with local New Orleans artist Journey Allen and many others on murals for New Orleans East Public Library and The Vote Building in New Orleans. She was also interviewed and featured in local news articles and an article on the Apple Inc. website titled “Painting New Paths “ under their Racial Equality and Justice project. Aliyah received a Proclamation from New Orleans City Council for participation in the New Orleans East Creative Placemaking Mural Design.
Aliyah will attend California College of Arts this fall. She will major in Drawing and Painting to further develop her artistic abilities. Aliyah is an ambitious and driven young lady. In the future, She would love to build Creative Art Schools where kids of all ages can express their creative outlets for free. Aliyah believes if we inspire kids by giving them someone to look up to, or an inspirational environment, it could change lives that can change the world.
