Eliana Arriaga
Eliana has completed the necessary training to work as an official Election clerk. She dedicated all four years to Speech and Debate and was elected President for two consecutive years. She earned national qualification for Extemporaneous speaking three times. She was elected National Honor Society Parliamentarian in her senior year, when she established her school's first-ever voter registration drive. Eliana was accepted into the National Hispanic Institute Texas Lorenzo De Zavala program where she was elected Chief Justice. She simultaneously loves the arts and has been training in ballet since she was four. Once in high school, she earned her spot in the Ballet Company for all four years. Eliana earned a national honorable mention from the National Honor Society for Dance Arts and was a finalist with the Bexar County League of Women Voters for her self-choreographed contemporary-styled dance. She has also earned awards from the College Board, including the National Hispanic Recognition Program and AP Scholar awards.
NSHSS is awarding students who demonstrate an active commitment for spreading awareness/education on the importance of voting in their community.
