Erika is a college honors student and currently serves as a peer mentor for her university and sorority, and teaches English as a second language. Erika has served in several internships in public affairs, public policy, non-profits and community engagement, including through the Center for Pan-Asian Community Services, Southeast's most significant health and human services agency. Erika is passionate about supporting her community and plans to continue participating in volunteer legal clinics and attend law school.

John Lewis believed in the passion, persistence, and power of the people, particularly young citizens, to effect change from their kitchen tables and to never give up. NSHSS honors Representative Lewis's legacy with the John Lewis Good Trouble Scholarship for students who embody the ideals of 'good trouble'.
