Eugene is an avid chess player, violinist, and researcher and hopes to one day participate in politics. He is currently engaged in several research projects focused on equitability and sustainability, including MIT's Urban Metabolism Group and Columbia University's Sustainable Investing Research Initiative. In addition to his academic pursuits, Eugene started playing chess in kindergarten and is currently a FIDE Candidate Master. He is currently playing for Team USA in the Worth Youth Chess Championships. In 2020, Eugene founded a 501(c)(3) nonprofit called NYC Chess Connections, providing chess education for 50 underserved students.

Five (5) High school or college students interested in politics will receive $1,000 for their potential and interest to drive positive change in our communities and the world at large.
