Joey Mejia, who graduated from Cypress Bay High School in Weston, Florida, has distinguished himself through his passion for the performing arts, leadership, and community service. As treasurer of the Cypress Bay Drama Club, Joey managed finances, organized events, and guided younger members in their artistic development. His talents earned him multiple Critic’s Choice Awards and superior rankings at the Florida Thespian Festival. A Inside Out Theater Company member, Joey has honed his acting, singing, and dance skills through numerous performances. Joey’s musical abilities shine as a pianist and guitarist, showcased through classical performances and rock shows, including his role in a Green Day cover band. His commitment to personal growth extended to MTCA, where he trained with Broadway professionals and attended master classes from top musical theater programs. Beyond the arts, Joey founded and led drama and chess clubs for elementary school students, fostering creativity, teamwork, and critical thinking. A volunteer with NVEEE Pals, he engages in leadership development and social advocacy, striving to make a positive impact. Recognized with the Lightning Award and a Cappie Award nomination, Joey exemplifies creativity, initiative, and dedication, inspiring those around him to pursue their passions and make a difference.
