Katie McIntosh
Katie is a senior in high school who has been volunteering in elementary schools for over seven years. Most of her volunteer hours have been in kindergarten classrooms, where she was often called upon to help students with unfinished work, read with students, or play. She is currently involved in an internship at a preschool where she helps serve the children breakfast and play with the children. Katie has been given extra responsibilities at her internship and asked to work additional hours. She was a member of her high school’s Educators Rising club in her junior year and is an officer for the club in her senior year. She has also been a member of her school’s French German Alliance and Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America clubs throughout high school.
The NSHSS Nobel Academic Excellence Scholarship recognizes high school juniors and seniors making a positive impact on society, and how college will help these students continue to make an impact for years to come.
