Rohan Patel
Rohan Patel has demonstrated a passion for community service and a strong commitment to leadership during his high school years. He has volunteered as a youth soccer coach allowing him to share his passion for the sport while being a mentor for young athletes to look up to and embody.
Beyond his local community, Rohan has made an impact nationally as a founding member of See Us Now, an advocacy group focused on improving the lives of foster care children. Through the group’s lobbying efforts in Washington, D.C., he played a vital role in helping get legislation passed through both the Senate and the House of Representatives. His disaster relief efforts for communities affected by hurricanes demonstrate his commitment to helping others in need.
Rohan's leadership extended to his role as debate captain at Carrollwood Day School. As captain, he significantly increased membership and fostered a supportive culture. Under his guidance, the team achieved significant success, with multiple members qualifying for national competitions. This experience honed his leadership skills, mentorship abilities, and strategic thinking.
Rohan's experiences have shaped his aspirations to pursue careers in finance and politics, where he hopes to address societal issues on a larger scale.
The NSHSS Nobel Academic Excellence Scholarship recognizes high school juniors and seniors making a positive impact on society, and how college will help these students continue to make an impact for years to come.
