NSHSS Research and Academic Paper Scholarship
Award:
Two (2) $1250 awards
Eligibility:
NSHSS high school members graduating in 2025, 2026, 2027, or 2028.
Scholarship Details:
NSHSS will recognize two (2) students who have written an academic paper on the provided topic:
- Analyze the potential risks and benefits of integrating AI into education. How can AI technologies enhance the learning experience for students? What challenges might arise, and how can they be addressed to ensure equitable access to education?
The paper can be a research paper, original essay, or an analytical paper. Please keep the paper to a maximum of 8 pages.
Please note: We will not consider fiction, poetry, journal entries, computer programs, or lab reports. You may submit one paper. Winners must agree to the publication of their essay on the NSHSS website in order to receive the award. Submissions will not be returned.
Application Requirements:
- Upload a copy of your essay on the online application as a word document in APA format (double-spaced, 12 point font). Essays must be submitted in English. Include the following details in your paper:
- Title page
- Reference page included on a separate page of the paper

- Pictures/videos/media showing your leadership in action (optional)
- Color headshot for suitable for website posting

- Current Transcript (can be official or unofficial)
- Educator recommendation
